This 39 948 m² ( 430 000 ft² ) Library has a circulation capacity of 3 million volumes and 4 000 reader seats. The building includes a large central reading hall with a seven level atrium and reading mezzanines. It has a public section and a collection section. The public section was designed as a large covered garden which acts as a centre of activity and gathering place for the students. To enable television and audiovisual related courses, several recording studios, a small TV / radio museum, and a cinema have been incorporated in the public part of the design.
